From my own experience, I’ve found that Red Bush tea isn’t to everyone’s taste but personally I love it and prefer it to caffeinated tea. Plus it has an abundance of health benefits!
- Caffeine Free – Red Bush tea is free from caffeine so it is actually hydrating and can be drank at any hour without the worry of interrupted sleep and crashing energy levels.
- Rich in Zinc – It’s high zinc levels mean that red bush tea is great for the skin in particular – zinc helps with the healing of wounds, makes new cells and enzymes and helps us to process fat, protein and carbohydrates in food.
- Contains less than half the tannins of regular tea
- Rich in Antioxidants and Minerals – The high levels of antioxidants and minerals including iron, zinc, magnesium and calcium has scientists claiming it helps to heal many conditions from skin allergies to eczema and stress to stomach upsets.
Prepare yours as you would typical black tea (with milk and sugar as desired) or without milk, to your taste. There are different variations of rooibos/ red bush tea including Tetley’s Vanilla Red Bush which is delicious!
Buy your red bush tea in all major supermarkets and health stores.
