Alpro now do Almond and Hazelnut milk

Alpro Hazelnut Milk

As I discovered recently, Alpro are extending their product range from just soya products to include Almond and Hazelnut milk drinks. I reviewed the Almond Milk, so now it’s time to put the new Hazelnut drink to the test!

Like Alpro Almond milk, the Hazelnut Milk also contains 3g of sugar per 100ml. The calorie content is 29 cals per 100ml, with 1.6g fat and 0.3g protein. Once again I’m surprised at the low protein content of this milk! It’s not ideal for vegans who will need to ensure to find other good sources of protein elsewhere.

Of course, the taste of the milk is just as important and I love this milk! Alpro Hazelnut Milk has a slightly stronger and nuttier taste than the almond milk, and perfect for giving cereals and hot drinks a sweet, nutty taste without any syrups.

I actually prefer this to the almond milk and could imagine drinking this on it’s own for a sweet and tasty drink. Overall, one to look out for – more for taste than any nutritional benefits.

Have you tried Alpro Hazelnut Milk?

  1. Do you use rapeseed or sunflower oil as I am allergic to Omega 3 (rapeseed, etc.)
but can take plenty Omega 6 (Sunflower oil, Olive oil, etc.)?

    1. Hi Aimee, Here are the ingredients for the Hazelnut Milk –

Water,Sugar ,Hazelnuts (2.5%) ,Tri-Calcium Phosphate ,Sea Salt ,Stabilisers (Locust Bean Gum, Gellan Gum) ,Emulsifier (Sunflower Lecithin) ,Vitamins (Riboflavin (B2), B12, E, D2)

It contains sunflower oil so hopefully that would mean that you can drink this?
