Healthy Pancakes for Pancake Day

Woop it’s Shrove Tuesday which can only mean one thing…pancakes! Despite common misconceptions pancakes don’t have to be bad for you, simply swap sugar laden toppings like nutella, ice cream and, well, sugar for something a little lighter.

Substitute half of your white flour for wholegrain flour. It has a lower glycemic load as it is less refined.

Love sugar and lemon? Swap sugar for xylitol or stevia for a more natural sweet kick

Greek yoghurt is a great alternative to cream or ice cream.

Ditch the golden syrup and instead try agave nectar, a naturally sweet substitute perfect for drizzling over pancakes

Fresh fruit is the perfect pancakes topping; I love blueberries, strawberries or banana. Tasty and one of your five-a-day, amazing!
