Celebrity Diets: Victoria Beckham

Just a few months after the birth of her baby daughter Harper, Victoria Beckham has showed off her incredible bikini body in the May issue of Harpers Bazaar UK.

The 38-year-old was back in her size 6 clothes not long after giving birth, and obviously has good genes to thank in part, but how else does this working mum stay in shape?

Victoria credits running for some of her weight loss, telling Vogue: “I ran a lot. I did it six days a week. I become quite obsessive when I get into something.”

Nutrition-wise, Victoria is said to have eaten little and often with five small meals a day. This is a good approach as it keeps blood-sugar levels even and will help her to maintain her energy as a busy new mother!

Here’s an example of a typical day in the diet of Victoria Beckham:

8am 1 scrambled free-range egg served on 1 oatcake, with 1 plum tomato, halved and grilled.

11am ½ pack shop-bought tuna Niçoise salad.

2pm Vegetable stew (makes enough for next day’s lunch too): cook chopped garlic, onion, 1 leek and 1 carrot with some ground cumin and chilli flakes. Add 1 can chopped tomatoes and 300g Quorn pieces.

4pm The other ½ of your shop-bought Niçoise salad.

7pm Baked sea bass: roast 1 small sea bass fillet in tin foil with a slice of lemon. Serve with broccoli and green beans.

As you can see her diet is generally free from refined carbohydrates and sugars, while packed with veggies and lean protein. Overall, I think it’s quite a healthy attitude to take.
