Nakd have recently unveiled two new snack bar flavours – Caffe Mocha and Rhubarb & Custard – and I was lucky enough to be invited along to their launch event at Brill Café in London this week.
The evening kicked off with a talk from Jamie, the founder of Nakd Wholefoods as well as their nutritionist Lucy-Ann. If you’re familiar with the brand you will know their focus is on creating delicious healthy snacks from natural ingredients, and both Jamie and Lucy-Ann spoke of their desire to help people move away from more processed foods towards a healthier diet rich in whole foods. This is exactly what I love about the brand – they have found a way to make handy snack bars that are free from artificial ingredients and most importantly, taste good so no one has the excuse not to grab a healthy snack on the go.
Following on from the talks we formed teams with other bloggers to get down to the fun and messy business of creating our own Nakd bars! I joined up with Philippa from Skinny Latte Strikes Back, Katherine from Lady Loves Cake and Jeremy from The Happy Commuter, and set to work on ‘smooshing up’ our own bar using the secret mix and our pick of ingredients – natural strawberries & cream flavouring, pistachios and cashew nuts.
They didn’t look too appetising at first, but the Strawberry Nutcase (well done Jeremy!) tasted a lot better than it looked! After a fun evening getting to know some of the Nakd team and fellow bloggers, I was on my way home with a goodie bag packed with delicious Nakd bars and raisins – these will keep me going for a while!
